She has to practically sit on him to wake him up, but he finally does wake up and for a moment it's like he's a few years in the past before he blinks sleep from his eye and he has to smile because there she is, his Rikku, sensible and practical and all Al Bhed again.
He liked her hair before, but it wasn't practical, and the Al Bhed were mostly practical people. It comes of living on whatever you've got.
"You cut your hair," he states the obvious, and then he grins, because he thinks she might think that he thinks it's awful. "I like it."
He reaches up to gently tug on one of her braids and then he wraps his arms around her, tumbling her closer to him, and kisses her softly, just because.
