Summary: Edge has the itch to go wandering.
"Yo!"
Edge had escaped again. By escaped, that meant that he'd snuck out past Gramps' guard (supposedly just for protection), climbed out through a window, knocked someone unconscious and walked and fought his way all the way to Mount Ordeals. He wasn't quite sure what he was doing there, except he knew that Kain was there and he sort of had an itch in his feet, so going to see Kain sounded like a great idea.
"What are you doing here?" Kain sounded barely surprised. He sounded tired and pissed off, actually, but Edge brushed that thought aside, offering his disarming grin. For a moment he tried to come up with a proper reason, then gave up, shrugging.
"Thought I'd come see you. Gramps isn't letting me even look at any girls and it's all blahblahblahresponsibility, so I snuck out and I think Cecil and Rosa are getting sick of the sight of me, so..."
Kain allowed himself the smallest smile. "I train all day up here. If you want to stay, you'll have to train with me."
Edge thought about it. He didn't see why not, and he'd been cooped up and out of practice so long that it might be fun to have a good long training session, like in the old days, somewhere between point A and point B, with Cecil and Kain and Rosa and Rydia all at his back.
"We should all get together sometime," he said, following Kain, watching the Dragoon put his helmet on.
"Maybe."
Edge admitted freely to himself that he wasn't exactly the smartest cookie in the jar, but something was up here. "Don't you want to see the others? Cecil? Rydia?"
Kain swung round, giving him a dark look. "Keep your nose out, Prince of Eblan. I don't know what you're doing here but what I'm doing up here is none of your concern."
Edge blinked. And then helpfully pointed out to Kain that hey, he was King now, and he was just wondering, and that he was sure that Cecil and Rosa missed Kain. He wasn't too surprised when Kain ignored him, but he joined in on Kain's training again after a few moments, and tried not to say anything stupid to make Kain mad again.

I love Edge's escape, and the whole rant about "I'm King now, and I just was wondering," and Kain being snarly is just great. ^_^
