FFX: Notes
Fandom: Final Fantasy X
Pairing: Wakka/Rikku
Warnings: None
Rating: PG13
Summary: He interests her. Timeline here.
He's interesting.
Not too interesting -- not like Auron is interesting, all gruff mystery and short words -- but more interesting than most Yevonites, or so Rikku thinks to herself. Not that she knows many Yevonites, but still. He's all bitter and really she's sure he's all soft and squishy inside.
Somewhere inside.
She can hear it, in his voice, when he talks to Yunie. It's obvious she's like a little sister to him, and it's obvious that he doesn't want her to die, and sometimes his voice goes so soft and vulnerable. But then he's all brash and boy again, even though technically he's all grown up.
She likes his voice. Unlike his face, his expression, it shows off all kinds of feelings. One minute it's all soft and gentle, then maybe even proud, and then he's all Yevon and hard and cold and cruel, but there's a note in his voice that shows he's not really suited to it. Yevon is too hard on him. He's too hard on himself.
Rikku likes him. Even when he's all angry and against the Al Bhed, she likes him, because there's hints of reluctance there that even he can't hear. Only she can, because she's getting so used to listening to it. She knows when his chest is all tight with sympathy for her after Home is -- is you know. His words are falsely encouraging, and she lets that annoy her for a while, but she knows he doesn't mean to hurt.
She thinks she might like the noise he might make if she pinned him down and kissed him hard.
She decides to try it, one day.
