cupcakemonster's Gala.
He holds the little kid in his arms and grins. "Gala, huh? Well. I'd better start washing my mouth out and stop swearing in front of you or Baralai will eat me."
And he plays with her, like a little boy with a girl only slightly smaller, until Baralai comes to find them, all disapproval hiding his smiles. And Gippal puts Gala down for a minute to take Baralai in and hold him close and breathe in everything he is, but only for a moment or the kid will crawl away.
He leans down to scoop Gala up after a moment, laughing, cuddling.
"You're like your mother. No d -- " he stops the word before it comes out, moves on smoothly, "respect for me, and always wanting to spoil my fun, hmm?"
But he's only joking and Gala knows it and Rikku should know it.
"It's bedtime," Baralai says, softly, bedtime for Galas and for Gippals and so they go, little girl laughing, Gippal laughing, Baralai smiling.
It'll be perfect. Gippal will make it perfect. From here on in, there're no mistakes, only manymany choices and the right path to choose among them.
