Aziraphale shouldn't be drawn to the darkness, being an angel and all, but somehow he is -- drawn to a darkness that is more playful and light-hearted than the light, really. And so that light-heartedness should perhaps be considered part of and one with the dark, but Aziraphale doesn't think so and d - never mind anyone who thinks differently.
He has always thought that despite his Fall, Crowley has never really seemed to belong in the dark or in the light. He's mischievous, yet he's contrite whenever Aziraphale rebukes him, and with just a little... something, things could be right.
