Summary: His first crush is not happy with him. Response to
cupcakemonster's Colliding Awkwardly.
So that was okay and they went to sleep and though Gippal thought something would change, after he said it aloud, nothing did. Rikku keeps on sleeping in his bed, he keeps on having the ugly nightmares, he keeps flirting with girls all the time.
Though he starts flirting with boys, sometimes, too.
The first time he kisses another boy, he doesn't exactly get the reaction he wants. The boy is Al Bhed (of course), sandy-haired with the greenest-green eyes and a smile that makes Gippal go all gooey somewhere inside. But he's also, apparently, the kind of boy who likes girls, and who thinks boys who like boys are, well, the wrong kind of different.
For a while, Gippal can only see stars.
He sneaks to his room to sulk, and waits for Rikku to find out, or come to see what's wrong, because he doesn't want to see anyone else right now.

I like the simple clean way you present this event, which is likely fairly painful and tragic to Gippal. He doesn't rage or weep, just sort of gives up and goes home. That's a little bit sad too.
Nitpicking:
I would just change the first line to be the present tense too, like this: "So that is okay and they go to sleep and though Gippal thought something would change after he said it out loud, nothing did." Okay I took out a comma too. Heh.
