edenbound | FFX-2: Process

Summary: Getting better is just like breaking down. Response to cupcakemonster's Over Before You Know It.

Baralai doesn't want him to go, but he goes anyway, and maybe he's crying when he looks out over the sky, but he probably isn't, it's just the wind and the salt-sting from the splash of water. He stays there on the shore for a minute, or two, or three, and it becomes an hour before he knows it, and then he walks away.

And he goes back to Bevelle, and Baralai, and he cries, and misses her, but he knows that whatever chance they had, they fucked up, and whatever there was left of the Rikku he loved upped and left a while ago.

And Baralai thinks Gippal regrets it, but he doesn't, not a bit of it, not a minute of it, because no one can ruin you if you won't accept it, and maybe he started the whole stupid process but Rikku carried it on.

And he takes Baralai to all their places, and he wins the desert back, and his machina, and he knows he could've let Rikku break him, just like he broke her, but he'll live with it all; it's a process just like breaking down.

And Baralai always listens.

I'd like it to be a regular habit. xD Even if we created a community though, I'd still put it on my fic LJ like this, which would defeat the object. xDD;;

Well let's take him back to a time before he liked boys.

(Can he like boys when he's a little older? And Rikku can be all "ooh, I have a cool gay best friend!" and cuddle him when some boy breaks his heart? And...

Of course, I could write a straight Gippal. If you want. xDD)

Why don't we try writing them as best friends then, platonic like, and he can be like "mmm, boy yum" and they can try and pick up guys together. AHHAHAHA.

Gippal is indignant, and says he does not like Hypellos like Rikku's brother does.
