"We're with you, ya know?" Raijin says, into the silence, to Seifer's back. Fujin lifts a foot, about to kick him, but he plunges on. "No matter what. We know she was screwing with you, and we'll... we'll even testify for you, ya know? If there's a trial..."
Fujin pauses. Seifer shows no sign of movement, so she kicks Raijin just for good measure, since he did nothing to improve the situation. "No matter what," she says, for Seifer's ears only, uncharacteristically quiet. His shoulders twitch a little. Fujin gulps a little.
"I know that, you idiots," he says, after a moment, and she realises he's laughing, not -- well, you know. It's as close to a thank you as he'll get, she thinks.
"Just checking," she says, and delivers another kick.
"Ow, what -- "
"Let's go fishing," Seifer says, suddenly. He turns to look at them. His eyes are clear, present, and not saddened by anything, not now. He's back, she thinks, he's really back.
"Yes," she says, still soft, and he squeezes her shoulder wordlessly as he passes.
