cupcakemonster's Last Call.
They didn't help him a bit and he knows they'll tease him for days, but with Rikku sat on top of him like that that's not the first thought on his mind right now, that's more like oh and kiss? and what? and love. So he reaches up and pulls her hair, not sure whether to laugh, smile or sigh, and he takes her hand and stands up smoothly, feeling her littler fingers in his all delicate like he could crush them.
"Satisfied now?" he asks her, watching the soft blush and the dancing smile and the quick risefall of her chest and he feels like he can see her heart go thumpthump exactly like his and he grins at her.
Then he looks around to see everyone still staring and amazingly, he's blushing too, and he's all what are you looking at? and they're all sorry boss just through looks and they clear off to leave him standing there with her.
He feels like a butterfly caught in her hand all of her sudden, her gentle fingers curling round him and trapping him in a gentle prison, and his heart is all thumpthumpthump like fluttering wings along with the butterflies in his stomach.
He tightens his hand around her fingers gentlygently.
"Maybe you should go," he says, thinking of Yuna and Paine waiting for her, and he smiles, "I won't disappear. If you come back in a few days..."
He lets the offer trail off, gentlegentle smile and relenting, and he looks at his girl -- she's still his girl, has always been his girl -- with his smile that's just for her and he's not a butterfly with trapped bent wings, he's a butterfly landing on a flower.
