"You're not about to tell me we're lost again," Kiros says, just as Laguna is opening his mouth. Laguna closes it again and clears his throat.
"Weeeell, I think we need to go -- "
"We could just follow the signs."
" -- in the direction the sign is pointing," Laguna finishes, giving Kiros a hurt, kicked-puppy sort of look, which doesn't bother him at all. "You have so little faith in me."
"When it comes to directions, yes."
"What about the rest of the time?" Laguna asks, leading the way with a triumphant sort of air that Kiros just doesn't bother to comment on.
"You know how I feel about you the rest of the time," Kiros says, his voice just a little rough, because this -- this is still new, a little raw, and Laguna, well, he's prone to trampling all over things without ever meaning to, and -- but Kiros trusts him, so he said it anyway. And Laguna looks back over his shoulder, this little smile on his face.
"Oh. Right. I do, don't I?"
