Summary: The tent is cramped, but that's okay. For
feywood, for getting up on time.
The tent is cramped, even with just the two of them. Zell crawls in second, zips up the flap behind them. "At least we're not going to freeze," he says into the already thick air, the darkness. Squall makes a non-commital noise, lying down, but Zell knows him well enough by now -- they've been in close quarters often enough, and in battle together often enough, after all, even without everything else -- to know that it's okay for him to move up beside him, to lie down close. "Tired?"
"A little. And we'll have to set off before it's light."
"Should we take watches?" Zell asks, reluctantly, around a yawn. He feels more than sees Squall shake his head.
"I'll wake if there's anything going on," he says, which is true enough. Zell can never wake up and not wake Squall -- it's like he sleeps with one eye open. It was disconcerting, at first, but Zell's used to it by now.
"You just wanna cuddle," he says, poking Squall in the ribs in just the right place to get the tiniest squeak out of him. Squall doesn't say anything or make any other noise, but there's space beside him that Zell's welcome to roll into, and when he does, Squall's arm goes around him, and Squall settles snug against him, and yes, yes, Squall wants to cuddle, even if he's not going to admit that's what it is. Zell grins to himself at that, but doesn't say anything, doesn't make a noise, so as not to scare away what's happening.
