Dean is a solid weight against him. Castiel sits very still, knowing that Dean is said to be a light sleeper. He can feel Dean's breath, moist and warm against his neck, and Dean's fingers curl slowly into his trenchcoat, twitching now and again. It is... pleasant, having Dean in his arms like this, though he suspects that come the morning Dean will be embarrassed by it. It's strange -- Dean is bright and quick, always, sharp and hard, all edge. Even where he is broken, opened up and changed by Alastair's surgically precise torture into something else, he is still sharp and ready. He's all movement and change, and yet --
And yet he rarely seems so alive to Castiel as he does now, now he's lost in dreamless sleep: breathing soft and slow with his fingers curling into Castiel's trenchcoat, as if he grasps for comfort.
