overlooked.
His hand is tight in her hair, his mouth hard, demanding against her. Kim can hardly breathe, but he's there, holding her up, his mouth still against hers. He bites, even, one sharp nip, and then he's pulling back, so fast she thinks she imagined it.
She takes her time about getting her breath. "Aileron?"
He leans back against the wall, his breathing just a little uneven, a chink apparent in his armour, his sharp eyes disarmed. "I didn't mean to -- "
"Of course you did. Some part of you, anyway. Why?"
He looks away, then. She has to roll her eyes, but resists the urge to mutter a derogatory men.
"Look, I know you think you have be tough and all that, but I saw you after Diarmuid... I saw you, okay? I know you have feelings and I don't begrudge you them. Nobody does, except yourself. If you want to say that you don't want me to leave, fine -- say it! I don't know if I'll listen to you, but it won't kill you to say it."
"I don't like to be refused."
"And I don't like to be stonewalled, so we're even. Say it."
It takes him a moment, and Kim has to bite back a smile at the way he shuffles his feet, almost like a guilty schoolboy, before he meets her eyes. "Fine," he says, crisply, "I want you to stay."
"I'll consider it," she says, and takes a step closer. "You don't have to stay so controlled, either. If you want to kiss me -- "
He's there before she finishes speaking.
"It's always the quiet ones, huh," she says, into his mouth, knowing he doesn't know what she means.
