"I feel like I know you," Sora says. He looks up, pointing to the clocktower. "You hang out up there sometimes, right?"
"Of course you know me," Hayner says, rolling his eyes. "Yeah, we do. Did Olette tell you about that?"
"No, I mean... I know you." He snuck a sidelong glance at Hayner, looking at him a little longer and harder than was really warranted. "Nobody told me. I just... knew. I knew you'd like it up there. I almost feel like I've sat with you there."
"Well, you haven't. Not yet, anyway."
"I'd like to, sometime."
Hayner grins a bit and nods. "Next time you visit us, I'll take you up there. Where're Donald and Goofy, anyway?"
"Picking up some supplies." Sora leans back against the wall, stretching his legs out. There's a silence, not uncomfortable, and then Sora clears his throat. "You know," he says, awkwardly, made slightly husky by it, "I really like you a lot."
"We're friends, right?" Hayner shrugs. "Of course you like me."
"I mean -- " Sora breaks off in frustration and then leaps to his feet. "I can see Goofy. Time for me to go, I guess."
Hayner gets up as well. "You're always rushing off."
"A keyblade master's work is never done," he says, with a grimace that's mostly for show. He grins, then. "And it's fun. All the travelling. I wish we could bring you along... Anyway, I'm trying to find my friends and get home, really. I like Twilight Town, but..."
"I know," Hayner says, but he doesn't look happy about it. He shrugs. "See you soon? Don't forget about the clocktower."
"It's a date," Sora says, and then quickly runs away from Hayner toward Donald and Goofy, so that Hayner can't see the look on his face for the way that slipped out.
