"I shouldn't be doing this, you know," Will whispers. He's stroking Bran's hair, holding him close, and they're so tangled together that they won't be able to leave the bed without making a concerted effort. "I only meant to come and tell you that I... that I have to leave. To say goodbye."
Bran shifts slightly. "I didn't think you meant that."
"But I did. Sooner or later, I have to go. I thought you understood. There's nothing you can do to keep me here," Will says: softly, sadly. Bran shakes his head.
"You can't just leave now. You can't."
