Summary: Simon has no idea how important he is to Will.
"Are you really kissing me?" Simon murmured. Will pulled back, frowning slightly, leaving his hands on Simon's shoulders, keeping him close.
"What do you mean? Do you mean... is this a dream? I don't think so." Will grinned, lopsidedly, endearingly. "I'll pinch you, if you like, but you'll probably just go 'ow'."
Simon shook his head and looked away, his shoulders moving in a shrug under Will's hands. He tried to keep his voice casual, and almost succeeded. "Are you kissing me... or are you kissing someone else? In your head? I mean... would you rather I was someone else?"
"Who else would I be kissing?"
Another shrug. "Bran?"
"That's almost as bad as if you'd said James!" Will spluttered. "I might as well ask you if you were thinking of kissing Barney instead."
Simon made a face. "I just... I don't feel like..."
"You don't feel like you're special to me," Will supplied, after a moment, reaching up to take Simon's face in his hands and looking into his eyes seriously. "Is that it?"
"It sounds silly now I say it out loud," Simon said, almost apologetically. Will shook his head.
"It's okay. I understand." He pulled Simon a little closer, running his fingers through his hair, his face still serious -- seeming somehow rounder than ever, more boyish, more ordinary, under the weight of that question. He leaned up and pressed their lips together carefully, rather chastely. "I'm kissing you, Simon. I swear. And you're kissing me. And you have no idea how important you are to me."
Slowly, Simon lifted his hands, putting one on Will's shoulder and moving the other into his hair. Carefully, as if Will might dissolve under his touch, he caressed the side of Will's neck with his thumb, moved closer, kissed him.
"I swear," Will said again, and Simon closed his eyes.
"I'm kissing you," he said, softly, against Will's mouth, feeling the curve of Will's smile. "Just you."
