It was like being a newborn all over again.
There was no one to teach him. No one to warn him. Only instincts, and the knowledge that lay inside him like a seed waiting to germinate.
He wasn't called Merriman Lyon, then. Or Merlion. Mostly, they called him Boy: mostly, he did as he was told. He couldn't imagine, at first, what he was supposed to do with this power, this knowledge.
He couldn't imagine a day when a young boy would look at him, born all over again, ignorant and powerful, needing to be guided, needing to be led.
