Summary: Ashe hadn't expected it at all. For
calliopepurple, on my first kisses meme.
She hadn't expected the kiss. She hadn't expected Fran at all -- she'd gone off a little way to find some peace and quiet, but the viera had followed her. For a while they'd just sat together, but finally Fran had turned to her, put her hands on her shoulders. She'd talked about strength, about worthiness, about doing what was right: it hadn't mattered what she'd been saying, really. It was more the tone of her soft voice, and the sentiment behind it, that had made Ashe stop doubting herself again.
She'd just been thinking that she couldn't have stood anyone else seeing her wracked with doubt when Fran had kissed her. It was a cool, soft kiss, more like a blessing than a statement of anything, and Fran had smiled at her afterwards as if it all made sense.
"You will be alright," the viera had said, though Ashe had no idea how she'd come to that conclusion. And then she'd got up and gone.
"I don't think even Balthier understands you truly," she'd muttered, watching Fran go. That hadn't really helped with her confusion, though.
