"You kissed me."
"Yes," Quistis said. She wanted very much to run off and -- well, not hide, but be alone for a while. But she was currently the SeeD operative in charge of guarding President Loire, and despite her hopefully temporary lapse in judgement, she couldn't really just run off. Although she had her doubts on whether anyone would be able to assassinate Laguna for the simple reason that he would either talk them to death first, or simply come off as someone so goofy and helpless that he wasn't worth killing.
"I suppose I should have expected that. I mean, that you would go for what you want. Being a SeeD and all."
"Obviously you don't know your own son very well," she pointed out. "He wouldn't go for what he wanted if it came up in front of him wearing a big ribbon and a sign with big neon letters on it."
Laguna huffed softly. "Still, you know what I mean, right?"
"I'm not terribly good at going for what I want, either," she said, quietly. "I'll do it, given time, but..."
"How long?"
He looked a bit like Squall, with that look in his eyes, she realised. Determined. He'd get his answer, somehow -- though Squall would scowl it out of her, and Laguna would smile it out of her. She bit her lip. "Long," she said, finally.
"Squall is probably going to be very freaked out," Laguna said, and then made a face. "Ah -- my leg. Let's go and sit down..."
"I can go now, since you're in your own private rooms..."
Laguna gave her another look. "I didn't think you'd want to do that. We're going to talk some more about this, after all."
