Jane's mouth was soft against his. Simon closed his eyes and found that an extraordinary number of things had little or no importance all of a sudden -- the fact that Jane was soaking wet, her clothes clinging to her skin; the fact that he was supposed to be making dinner and no doubt something was burning; the fact that he didn't really know why she was kissing him all of a sudden; the fact that she was his sister. She tasted of rainwater and breathlessness, and she was shivering in his arms, holding onto him tightly.
"This is a really bad idea," he said, breathlessly, and she laughed.
"I know," she said, but she didn't pull away.
