Summary: Love is for the fortunate royalty, right? For
finalfantasy100.
Love was something made for princesses and princes, young and foolish, and Steiner had always been quite sure that it was his duty as a knight not to give in to such feelings. Love was for the poorest of people and royalty, and not for the people in between, who needed to get on with life.
Beatrix changed that, though, because she wasn't too young, or royal, or poor. She was just a little more high class than him, perhaps, because she'd never wear rusty armour, and if anyone was foolish, it was him. And despite that, she loved him anyway.
