They don't argue often but when they do, it becomes a cold war; Heero's eyes far away and cool, Trowa's eyes very much there and then, burning, but his face as blank as Heero's. This time, they've been refusing to speak to each other for a week. It's unhealthy, Duo thinks, knowing them as well as he does, knowing that every night they go to bed together and sleep, each with their back to the other. Or pretend to sleep, anyway.
And anyway, it creeps him out, the way they don't seem to be completely ignoring each other, and yet that's what happens.
So he resolves to patch things up, somehow. He figures that Heero is too stubborn to apologise, and since (he thinks) Trowa was in the right this time, he won't apologise either.
But before he can think of how, exactly, it seems Heero's figured it out okay all on his own. Duo watches him hand Trowa coffee and wait for him to look up. And when he does look up, Heero tries for the first smile in a week.
"I'm sorry," Heero says, softly, looking up at Trowa, and Trowa can't help but nod and smile and accept, to Duo's relief. And then Duo has to look away when Heero wraps his arms around Trowa's neck and they kiss.
