All Al Bhed were thieves. That was a concept that had been lodged in Baralai's head since he was tiny. Al Bhed were disliked, thieves were disliked, and when either came to Kilika when he was growing up, they were treated in the same way. They linked together in Baralai's mind -- he wasn't, others thought, far off.
He watched Gippal carefully, when they ended up training for the Crimson Squad together.
Gippal was a thief, but the only thing Baralai had known him to steal was his heart. And he couldn't blame him for that -- he'd almost given it away.
