TDIR: Getting Away With It

Fandom: The Dark Is Rising
Pairing: Robin/Paul
Warnings: Incest
Rating: PG13
Summary: Robin always goes to Paul's concerts.

Robin always goes to Paul's concerts. The others call it brotherly solidarity -- except for Will, who seems to know more than he's letting on -- and Alice Stanton smiles upon it. She goes with them sometimes, of course, like any supportive parent, and those evenings Robin behaves himself and tries not to pay too much attention to all the little details that might provoke certain awkward situations.

When Robin goes alone to Paul's concerts, though... that's a different thing altogether. The older Paul gets, the more formal the occasions become, and the better he dresses for it -- Robin likes the look of him in smart clothes, because they suit him. When Paul's on stage, playing his flute, Robin can't look away: there's a look on his face of intensity and passion that's something like the look he has on his face when they're in bed together, and there's something about the adrenaline and the tension and the relief that comes after a perfect performance that supercharges them both.

Not to mention, of course, the impish look Paul sometimes gives him as he plays, fingers moving nimbly on the flute while his eyes are fixed on Robin.

It's the lopsided smile Paul has when he's just finished a performance that Robin thinks might be the best: a smile he knows is meant only for him.

And it's the kisses after the performance -- usually eager, sometimes frantic, fingers tangling in each others' hair as they press close, and laugh and touch and feel -- Robin likes to grab Paul by the lapels and drag him close for a kiss, but sometimes Paul will push him back against the wall and pin him there, and --

And when they go home, smiling and flushed and entirely pleased with the world, it feels like they're getting away with something, like they'll always get away with it -- like it'll be that perfect forever and ever.
