Summary: Axel was more than ready to try and take Roxas' mind off things. First time I'm really writing about the Organisation -- see here if you have any hints on that.

"What're you brooding about?"

Roxas jumped. "Axel?"

"Who else?" Axel rolled his eyes and plopped down beside Roxas, shoving his shoulder gently. "Not that you were easy to find, I'll give you that. What are you brooding about now? That... keyblade?"

"What else?" Roxas made a small gesture and the thing shimmered into being in his hand. He held it up. "I can't shake it. I tried to leave it behind, but whenever I think about it, it seems to appear. What does it mean?"

"Let me see..." Axel took it. "It's a fascinating bit of metalwork, I'm sure, but -- whoa!"

The keyblade dissolved in his hand, only to appear again in Roxas'.

"See what I mean?"

"Yeah... looks like it wants to stay with you."

He frowned down at it. "I want to find out what it means."

Axel moved a little closer, so their shoulders bumped together. "You will. Now... do I hafta beat this mood outta you, or are you going to behave?"

And Roxas smiled, just a little bit, all of a sudden. "Maybe we should see what this thing can do."

Axel jumped to his feet, summoning his chakrams into his hands and twirling them with a devilish grin. "Alright, but you better not expect me to pull any punches just 'cause you're all broody and off your game, baby."

"Who says I'm off my game?" Roxas asked, jumping to his feet as well. And they both laughed. Just a little.

Very nice. I had my daughter read it as KH is one of her fandoms and Alex/Roxas is her second favorite pairing. She said it was cute and completely in character and I would agree with that.

It's a really tough thing to do especially when you are in a comfort zone with the ones you already write. I don't write them but I have played the games 1 and 2 and am a sounding board for the kid when she is writing.

Usually, I can hop fandoms easily, so I don't really get why I find KH so hard. It's not just the Organisation characters, though they're the worst, it's all of them. Mind you, I never really read much KH fic, or got much involved in the fandom, so maybe I just wasn't connecting to it enough? I dunno. I'm replaying the games now -- did KHI in a week, which almost scares me, and then CoM in three days which really does -- and I keep wanting to write and read fic and stuff, so... maybe it'll be better from now. :D

I'm impressed, it took me forever to get through KHI. KHII I did on easy and just pushed my way through so it went much quicker. The Organization characters you have so little info on it's hard to get a grip on who they are or why they do what they do. The rest of them are multilayered and while Roxas is Sora he isn't so it's as if you are writing two people or someone who is severely split personality. The whole thing is really complex and convoluted.

Ahaha, I clearly have too much free time. I clocked up about forty hours altogether on KHI and about twenty on CoM. KHII, I've just done Roxas' part today, mostly. I think I'm going to get through it quite fast, too, although I'm going away for a bit on Friday so it won't be so fast. :D

And yes, that's what I find incomprehensible about the fact that so many people write for the Organisation characters. I mean, they're fascinating, but there's so little to go on... I can probably write Roxas, Axel and Larxene, by now, but otherwise: wuh? xD

I haven't played chain of memories yet. The kid has it and it's on my list of things to do I just haven't gotten there. *ponders stealing the GBA to play on break after NaNoWriMo*

You have to do a lot of fill in and assumption of motives which means you're looking at a /huge/ variation in interpretation. Yay for a fandom with built in arguements about motivations.

It's fun. :D The cards are frustrating sometimes, particularly Riku's deck, which modifies itself as it pleases and doesn't give you a say. D:

Yeah. xD Still, I think I'm getting something of a grip on it all now. Yay for replaying. :D
