DS: Arrangement
Fandom: Due South
Pairing: Fraser/Ray K/Ray V
Warnings: None
Rating: G
Summary: Conversations with a wolf.
"Look, I don't care whether you disapprove or not." Fraser paused his ironing to look at the wolf, who simply looked back, seeming unimpressed. "I would have thought you'd be the most understanding, really, being essentially a wild animal. Nobody expects you to have morals. Not," he said, somewhat sharply, "that there's anything immoral about the arrangement I have with Ray Kowalski and Ray Vecchio."
Diefenbaker made a noise between a whine and a sniff and put his head down between his paws. Fraser finished ironing Ray Kowalski's shirt and carefully hung it up, and then looked at Diefenbaker again.
"What are you talking about? Of course I'm not projecting my issues onto you. No, really. I'm quite happy, you know. Very happy."
Diefenbaker made a sound that was suspiciously like a snort.
"I mean it. I -- " Fraser broke off, and then started again, slower, tasting the words: "I love them."
Diefenbaker's tail started to wag enthusiastically.
"You're trying to give me advice about my love life? Dief, you're a wolf. You just don't understand this kind of thing." Fraser shook his head slowly, muttering something. Diefenbaker made a sort of whining noise and he looked up again quickly. "That's not the point, Dief. At least I'm honest with you. You didn't even tell me you had a -- well, a lady friend."
Diefenbaker's eyes closed.
"And I suppose you think that's the end of it?" Fraser made an exasperated noise, ironing another of Ray's shirts. "Wolves. You let one save your life..."
