He never knew why she did it. Perhaps it was simply to feel -- to feel something, even if the very effort were meaningless. He felt her teeth in his lip, her hands gripping tight at his shoulders, and he heard her laughter -- mocking, always mocking, her voice always light. He wondered how much worse she would be if she really did enjoy this -- how much worse she would be if she really could hurt him, if she could cut him to the core instead of these flesh wounds.
"Larxene," he said, against her mouth, and she drew back, laughing again.
"Marluxia," she said, mockingly, and then turned away -- and for a moment he dared to taunt himself with the idea that he might have felt something, the barest spark of something -- but he knew he had not.
