Bran had been forcing himself up to it for days. He thought he'd seen her looking at him like, well, like she wanted him to kiss her. But he could never be sure -- and there was always the voice of doubt reminding him that he's not exactly like all the boys she no doubt knows: his skin too pale, his eyes too strange --
He was never one for being a coward, though. He had to do it, before she went home, and so he did, and it was worth it for her wide eyes and her soft smile.
