FFVIII: Five Times Seifer Almasy Pisses People Off & One Time Quistis Trepe Makes Him Eat His Words

Fandom: Final Fantasy VIII
Pairing: None
Warnings: None
Rating: PG
Summary: Seifer and his asshole ways. For [livejournal.com profile] irish_ais.

Zell is easy to annoy, and so barely worth the effort. Seifer takes a lazy kind of pleasure in sitting down next to him in the cafeteria with the two hotdogs Raijin and Fujin saved for him. "How's it going, chickenwuss?"

The combination of his enemy getting hotdogs when he'd been told they'd run out and the old nickname made Zell want to punch him. Seifer could even see him clenching his fists and seriously considering it. And he smirked up at Zell, almost inviting it, wondering if Zell's self-control got any better while he was away. Away, he says, and means under the control of a bitch sorceress.

Still, more or less the same thing. He smirks again, in triumph now, as Zell's chair scrapes back and he disappears. Raijin and Fujin take his place, and all is well in Seifer's world.

Rinoa's around, of course. He's not quite sure what he does to get her pissed off, because it isn't entirely intentional -- but she is funny when she's all riled up, all spoilt princess and stamping foot. "Don't be mad at me, doll face," he says, feeling a familiar surge of affection for her, remnants of what they'd had what seemed like so long ago.

The nickname only serves to make her more pissed off, he thinks -- but only later, when she's already stormed off.

Not that he's particularly bothered.

Squall is surprisingly easy to get riled up. Strolling into his office, hands in pockets, whistling and entirely uninvited is a good way to start. Then follows calling him babe, suggesting a sparring match in the most suggestive tones possible, and then a not-so-veiled insult directed at Rinoa, who is apparently now Squall's fiancé. Who knew? Although that might explain her temper -- waking up to Squall in bed can't be the most wildly wonderful of events, in Seifer's opinion.

It's almost a sin to tease Nida, which is why Seifer takes a perverse pleasure in it. First point out that you've noticed him ogling Xu and Quistis, then ask him how his plans for taking over the Garden are going. Follow it up by pretending to forget him after looking the other way, and you've got one pissed off pilot. Especially amusing because Nida doesn't scowl, fight or threaten tears, but simply stands there looking woebegone. Almost as if he might cry, even.

After that, he's reduced to telling the kid running around Garden that he looked flabbier than ever.

And then he runs into Quistis.

At first it looks like a wonderful chance. He hasn't really seen her around since his not-too-triumphant return to Garden, and he figures she'll still be as easy a target as ever.

He comes out of it with a mark from her whip on his cheek and a couple of new nicknames for her: "whip-wielding harridan" being the favourite.
