The card looks ridiculous, too bright, too red, not him at all. Seifer stares down at it and tucks it back among the racks, taking a step back to look around. Whoever invented a day intended for romance and emphasizing people's loneliness deserves to be shot, he thinks. Romantic dreams should, ideally, be restricted to some noble cause, not keeping your bedwarmer sweet with you.
Although, thinking of Zell, Seifer finds he's smiling. One of those lopsided, happy grins. He jams another card back into the rack and turns to leave quickly. Zell will have to make do with words.
