Steiner's never been good with words -- especially not with Beatrix. Right now, he'd like to tell her that he loves her, that if she'll stay with him (put up with him) he'll treasure her forever. But he's never learnt how to say anything like that -- his mind filled only with stories of glory and honour (chivalry, yes, but not charisma). He wants to say that he'd be honoured to fight with her (at her side). And yet -- still, even now -- he can't say a word.
The good thing about Beatrix is that he thinks she probably understands better than him.
