FFVIII: Fourth Time Lucky

Fandom: Final Fantasy VIII
Pairing: Seifer/Irvine/Squall
Warnings: Reference to sex
Rating: PG13
Summary: It's going to mean something this time. For [livejournal.com profile] ff_threesomes.

It's happened three times. Not that he's been counting.

First time was a total surprise. He'd walked in on the two of them -- Leonhart and the cowboy, pressed up so tight against each other there couldn't've been so much as a molecule between. Except he's come to call them by name now, but that's what happens when you go to bed with someone. You tend to end up a bit more intimate with them even if nothing at all is meant.

The first time, they'd been talking about him. Or Irvine had. Whispering suggestions to Squall about him, suggestions that would almost make him squirm, let alone Squall. And Squall had been flushed, eager -- Irvine had to fight for every moan, every sigh, but he drew him out, better than Seifer had ever had.

They'd shared that look he'd never been able to get. The one couples use to communicate when they're thinking of pouncing on you.

Not that he's had much experience of that,

The second time, they invited him to join them. That was a surprise, but not as much. He'd been in some class or other at the time, making up some grade that Quistis' invented that he'd never dealt with. It was a delay tactic, obviously, to keep him from the SeeD ranks, but he didn't care so much anymore. It was a goal, it was attainable, he was going to reach it.

The note had said, in simple Squall-style: Tonight. Twenty-two hundred hours. My room.

It could've meant sparring, except that Squall had always specified the training center for that.

After that, he got a new goal. Sex with them was inspiring enough to encourage him to try and have that again. Maybe they knew that, because they ignored him, and he didn't really blame them. They were in love -- or at least, Irvine was in love with Squall. Harder to tell, the other way, but Seifer had a gut feeling. Anyway, it stood to reason they wouldn't want him in the way, but that didn't mean he had no chance.

In fact, it might well mean he had a good chance.

The third time was just sex. They still didn't connect with him, and Squall still moaned Irvine's name, if he moaned at all. The fourth time, though. Seifer stares at Irvine's door and thinks it over, what he's going to say -- and what he's going to do, to them, with them.

The fourth time is going to mean something.
