RH: Notice
Fandom: Robin Hood (BBC)
Pairing: Robin/Djaq, Allan/Djaq, Will/Djaq
Warnings: None
Rating: G
Summary: A take-notice-of-me kiss.
Robin is quiet. The kind of quiet that tells everyone he's thinking, and makes everyone leave him alone -- except, of course, Much, who stays close by, his eyes sometimes straying to his face, trying to evaluate the situation, figure out if he needs to be on damage control. He is avoiding everyone's eyes.
And Djaq is avoiding his.
She kissed him, earlier. It wasn't the kind of kiss he hopes for from Marian. It was nothing that simple. It was a take-notice-of-me kind of kiss. It was the kind of kiss that made a point more than anything else and Robin is quite, quite sure that both Allan and Will would both burn up with jealousy and longing for even that kind of kiss from her.
But for him, it's just... problematic.
Because he has noticed Djaq. Of course he has: and he appreciates everything she does within their little group. He doesn't ignore her because she's a woman. He really doesn't. He just -- well. It's easy to take someone for granted. Much being an obvious example of his tendency to do that. And he's good at underestimating people, those he keeps close and those he fights against.
Robin has seen the way Djaq looks at him sometimes. He hasn't missed that, though he missed some less subtle things. He likes to be watched, admired, loved, so he noticed.
But he'll take the kiss as it was meant, he decides: he'll take notice of Djaq now. At least most of the time.
