"Well, that was disasterriffic," Gippal commented, smiling as if using Rikku’s word brings her closer in some kind of comfort. He got up carefully and wiggled his jaw a little. "I forgot how hard you can punch. And how very... conservative you can be, at times."
Baralai looked a little pained. "I’m sorry. But..."
"Yeah, yeah, unwanted attentions and all that, filthy Al Bhed, etc." Gippal shrugged. "I remember that conversation we had couple of nights before the Crimson Squad thing in the cavern…"
"I’m sorry about that, too," he said, softly. "I didn’t mean… I…"
"You haven’t changed your mind. I know."
Baralai huffed softly. He wavered for a moment, but then moved forwards with that amazing speed that’d always surprised Gippal, grabbed Gippal’s shirt and hauled him down that tiny bit to bring him into a kiss -- a proper kiss, for the first time, that left him looking rather stunned and speechless.
"I have changed my mind," Baralai said, unnecessarily.
"And I am so damn glad you have, but next time, could you express it with more of those kisses instead of a punch?"
He smiled appeasingly. "Of course. That was just instinct."
"Note to self: don’t argue with that punch."
