For them, it has been a long time.
For Adel, it has seemed longer. She was never a patient woman, and though she was barely aware of the sleeping, still some inner clock ticked away the time, so slowly. She is impatient for the waking, for the being, impatient to live and breathe and use her powers as before. It has been so long. So horribly long.
And longer since she felt her blood racing in this way, longer since she could reach out and take whatever she wanted. That, too, she has missed.
She won't let them take it from her again.
