Summary: Yazoo finds it difficult to settle. For [livejournal.com profile] lightbulby's prompt of "surreal".

Kadaj's pacing is annoying: enough to set Yazoo's teeth on edge. Loz is snoring, but that isn't so annoying; more of a comfort than anything, at least tonight. Perhaps it would be annoying at some other time. Yazoo moves closer to Loz, hoping to catch a little of his sleepiness -- close enough to steal a little of the warmth of his body, as much as can leak out through his clothes.

"Sleep," he suggests to Kadaj, winding one arm around Loz. He'll wake in the morning with his hair in a tangle and probably with the not insignificant weight of Loz's body on top of him. Tonight, though, that doesn't matter.

"I don't need to," Kadaj replies, a hint of bite in his tone, and Yazoo decides to leave well alone. Knowing that they're close to their goal -- it's odd. Lends a different edge to things, a translucent film of strangeness over the peace of the evening. After a moment, Kadaj relents, stopping his pacing in favour of finding somewhere comfortable to sit. "Go to sleep. I won't disturb you."

Loz shifts a little in his sleep, wriggly. Yazoo presses tighter along his back and closes his eyes.
