There are few people in the world who can make Squall slow down and take it easy. One of them, of course, is me. He was tired, obviously, cranky after a bad day and half-growling down the phone at my more inane comments.
"You need to take a break," I declared, after a few minutes.
"I don't," he said, but his tone was somewhat doubtful. I put that down to my powers of knowing the right moment to say the right thing, rather than him being distracted -- I like to be optimistic about things.
"You never know when to stop. But you do need to stop. And," I used my most persuasive tone, fiddling with a biro from my desk, "you could come and stay here, spend some time with me."
He's strong willed. Like his mother. But he, like her, always gives in.
