Rosa started laughing even before Edge got to start telling his tale. She was in the bed, of course, wrapped up in the bedcovers, while Cecil dragged clothes on, silently cursing Edge for being an idiot. "Edge? Why are you naked and in our room?"
"I was... gambling."
Cecil would give Edge a scathing look, but since he's naked, there are things he doesn't really need to see. Instead, he glares at the clothes he's pulling out of a drawer for Edge. "You bet your clothes?"
"Pretty much. My weapons, too."
"And what am I supposed to do about it?"
Rosa was, by the sound of it, biting the pillow to keep back giggles. Edge shifted uncomfortably, running his fingers through his hair. "Well... get my stuff back from your soldiers?"
Cecil gave him a look, and then started to undress again. "No."
"Why not?"
"Because I have a feeling I know what you were betting on."
Edge looked guilty for a moment, avoiding Cecil's eyes. "What? I thought you'd be glad that I didn't end up sleeping with Rydia -- didn't even get a kiss. Would you believe that? Can you imagine why she's avoiding me, Rosa?"
That lady was still in no shape to make a reply. Cecil burrowed down into the bed next to her, biting back his own laughter. "Go bother someone else, Edge. Rydia, even."
There was a long pause. "You know, that could be an idea."
"No! I mean -- "
"Bye, Cecil," Edge said, breezily, on his way out. He'd left the clothes behind.
