Home doesn't feel like home for either of them without Kain somewhere close by. He promised to come back, in the note they found days after he left, in a place they'd always used to hide things in a more distant childhood. Home doesn't feel like home, and happiness is shadowed by an absence.
"Should I go after him?"
Rosa considers it, then, when Cecil suggests it. But they both know not to and remain in a silent agreement -- Kain will come back whenever he feels ready, and neither of them will force it.
But they're waiting for him. Until he's ready.
