The kid is kinda scrawny. A little snip of a thing. The guy menacing him would make two of Blank and leave a little over for a Zidane or two, but all the same, Blank knows he has to do something. He might get the better of the big guy with speed, but it's doubtful, and that'd be no protection for the kid...
He ponders it for a few moments, but when the guy reaches for the kid, he moves -- grabbing the kid and hauling them both out of there.
It's the right thing to do.
