Summary: A holiday in Esthar does Laguna good.
There's an uneasy alliance between Esthar and Garden -- mainly prompted by Squall's reluctance to have anything to do with his father. Cid, however, is happy about the alliance, and loves Esthar, and enjoys the flow of friendly and enthusiastic talk from Laguna when he gets the grand tour.
Wherever Squall got his cold manner from, it wasn't his father. Laguna is warm -- melty, even, like butter, responsive to the least signs of a warm friendship.
When it's time to go back to his duties, Cid is reluctant to leave.
It would do Squall good, he thinks, to have a holiday there.
