Zell worried, at first, when he bumped into Seifer as he came out of his Ma's house, but for once the gunblader simply looked worried and hardly noticed him. That was actually slightly worrying for Seifer's mental state, so Zell trod on his toe.
"Aren't you going to lecture me about watching where I'm going? Tease me about visiting my mother?"
Seifer's eyes were still distant. "Course not."
"Why not?"
"Everybody deserves a family, chickenwuss," Seifer said, with some of his usual scorn. There was some kinda vulnerability there that Zell didn't want to examine too close.
It was unsettling to think of Seifer vulnerable.
