Simon doesn't even turn to look at the Shepherd as he cleans up his instruments. He's cleaned them already but they can be cleaner. The infirmary can be a place for him on a ship where he fears he doesn't belong.
"Very brave, making me and my sister, who didn't do anything, criminals, and running away from it."
"Sometimes all you can do is run. Sometimes that's the brave thing to do."
It's sometimes pleasant to listen to the man talk, while he works, even if the words do nothing to stop the constant drone of guilt.
