Asking Rydia to marry him is something a little off hand, a little silly and impulsive and romantic, and he barely even buys the ring before he asks her, and it works, and he wins her over.
Planning a wedding is rather more problematical. Rosa and Cecil help -- supposedly -- Rosa insisting at every turn that he do everything to fulfil even Rydia's tiniest wish, and with Cecil watching Rosa with one of those sappy smiles Edge wouldn't be seen dead with in public and probably will be eventually.
Actually marrying Rydia is a moment of glory nothing will ever beat.
