Fandom: Final Fantasy IV
Pairing: Cecil/Rosa, Kain/Rosa, Edge/Rydia
Warnings: None
Rating: G
Summary: What should be done. For
mount_ordeals.
Edge feels rather that he shouldn't be surprised that it all turns out to be mostly a party, what with everyone together again and even Kain there, back from Mount Ordeals and somewhat sulky at the very idea, brightening just a touch when Rosa smiles. Rydia is busy having her time monopolized by a handsome and completely unworthy hanger on from Cecil and Rosa's court, so Edge wanders over to Kain and leans against the wall next to him.
"How bad is it?"
"What?"
"The lean. On the wall. You seem to be holding it up, after all."
Kain rolls his eyes when he understands what Edge means. For a moment there he'd thought the annoyingly perceptive ninja had picked up on his quiet, secret pain, but apparently not. He ignores him, now, as much as possible, anyway, his eyes on Rosa, almost glad she isn't currently dancing with Cecil, though no doubt she will be, soon.
"Why don't you ask her to dance?" Edge asks, unerringly following the path of Kain's eyes, and the dragoon huffs softly.
"Why don't you go extract Rydia from that octopus?"
Edge glances over and shrugs slightly. "I might. If you go ask Rosa for a dance, I'll go save Rydia."
"Surely you should save her of your own accord?"
Edge winked. "Surely you should dance with Rosa of your own accord."
Easy, that, smooth as knife through butter, a little stab and Kain is glaring, pushing away from the wall which unsurprisingly doesn't fall as he steps away. Without another word he moves towards her, awkward grace with his nerves all a-jangle. Edge smirks, then, slips through the crowd to Rydia and easily takes her hand away from the guy they'd found to dance with her.
"It worked?" she asks, moving with him in a perfect easy rhythm of the dance.
"Yeah," he grins, and winks again at Kain, who moves easily with Rosa somewhere across the dancefloor.
