T & DW: Doctor... Who?

Fandom: Threshold & Doctor Who
Pairing: Nine/Jack/Rose
Warnings: Crossover
Rating: PG
Summary: The Doctor always arrives when you're having trouble with aliens.

Caffrey looked at the big blue box -- a police call box, as the guy in the leather coat had told her cheerfully -- with some suspicion. It was obviously alien -- how else had it got there? -- and she didn't trust the three who'd stepped out of it. Cavennaugh didn't either. He had a rather stern eye on them, the other eye watching her, carefully, to make sure the strange box didn't do anything odd to her.

"Look," the guy in the leather coat said, "I'm the Doctor -- "

"Doctor... who?" Fenway asked, busy taking samples from all three of them to analyse for the alien infection.

"Exactly," the blond-haired girl said, smiling and exchanging looks with the other two.

"I'm Jack, Captain Jack Harkness," the other guy said, smiling brightly, too brightly. So cheerful. Too cheerful, perhaps. Smiles like that were rare in the Threshold buildings by now.

"You're not a Captain anymore," the girl pointed out, and he shrugged. "I'm Rose Tyler," she added, "me and Jack are the Doctor's companions."

The man who called himself the Doctor stood up, looked around, and then laughed. "Threshold. This is Threshold! I knew this was too important a time in history for me to never come here. Well, I'm the Doctor and I'm here to help."

"Specialities of the Doctor are -- " Rose began.

" -- alien invasions -- " Jack put in.

" -- saving the world -- "

" -- causing conspiracy theories -- "

" -- and bringing along two pains in the backside with him," the Doctor finished, rolling his eyes.

"I thought I was the only pain in your backside, since Rose doesn't exactly have the equipment installed," the guy said, with a mock hurt expression, smirking as Rose whacked him gently on the back of the head with a scandalised 'Jack!'. Caffrey tried not to think about the implications of that.

"You can help us defeat the aliens?" Caffrey asked, and she had to admit she was a little wide eyed. Cavennaugh hung back a little, distrustful, and Fenway just snorted.

"Of course! That's why we're here," the blonde assured her, smiling. She seemed so friendly. (Too friendly?)

"That's what we do," Jack added.

The Doctor nodded. "I'll help you defeat the aliens who are currently attacking you, but you're on your own with other aliens. And well, I can't help you against, say, myself."

"You're an alien?" Cavennaugh raised his gun.

Fenway looked up from the bloodwork, shaking his head, "Not the right kind of alien. Or the wrong kind, as you might look at it."

"Will you let me help?" the Doctor asked, shrugging, apparently nonchalent but, Caffrey could see, sincere.

"Yes," she said, and looked at Cavennaugh, seeing disapproval. But he knew as well as she did, they needed all the help they could get.
