Creating is a simple thing. Easy, even. The first time, of course, it's a little more tricky -- takes some careful thought. The replica of the boy is tricky only because it has to be so convincing -- has to convinced of it's own authenticity as much as anything else, perhaps.
Vexen likes the work, if nothing else, even if it doesn't keep him interested long. It's something to do. And it makes him feel a little like a god -- makes him feel, maybe just a little, proud. And powerful. Creation is the ultimate science, after all, something from nothing.
