Edge might be annoying and loud mouthed and he might have rather too high an opinion of himself, but there's no one in the world more generous. Generous with his time, his money, his potions -- his body heat as she shivers beside him. His courage, because she's scared -- and who wouldn't be, standing at the near-end of the world, expected to stop it? He lends her warmth and strength and courage and he grins at her for hope, and she takes from that and closes her eyes and gets ready, and tries to borrow his easy confidence, too.

I think you touch on an aspect of Edge that isn't explored much: his softer side. Yeah he's a bundle of sass and spark, but he does have his gentler moments, too, and this is really nice :)
