The fights and the sex leave him physically fulfilled -- exhausted, even -- but it leaves something lacking, a place inside him cold and untouched and empty. He wonders if he's supposed to be like that, and if all humans are like that. If they are, he wonders where their smiles come from.
Seifer has never given him a reason to smile. Smirk, yes, sometimes almost-laughter, but never true happiness or amusement.
He wants it badly, and only from Seifer, because he does feel alive when with Seifer. He has a feeling that what's missing is love.
And that he'll never get it.
