Jecht thinks he can be forgiven for drinking a little too damn much. At home, it was a way of dealing with it. You know. Fame and all that. A devoted wife and a whiny son. But here he has better reasons. Like, and he takes a long drink at the thought, this summoner he's guarding. And this other guardian he's with. Both prim and proper and tied into a million rules like his kid to his mother's metaphorical apron strings. He wants them. He wants them and can't have them so the bottle, he thinks, is a good substitute.
